| Eduardo Ustaran is head of Field Fisher Waterhouse’s Privacy and Information Law Group and is an internationally recognised expert in privacy and data protection law. A dually qualified English Solicitor and Spanish Abogado, Eduardo specialises in the issues that derive from the use of IT and the Internet. Eduardo advises on the impact of data protection law on the operational activities of all types of organisations, including FTSE 100 companies and public sector bodies. He is co-author of E-Privacy and Online Data Protection (Tottel, 2007) and of Data Protection Handbook (Law Society, 2nd Ed. 2008). Eduardo is a member of the Examination Board of the Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection. |

Jonathan Bamford joined the staff of the Data Protection Registrar when the office was first established in early 1985. He has remained through the transition to Information Commissioner with the introduction of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000. Jonathan is Head of Strategic Liaison. His main duties focus on freedom of information and data protection liaison with key stakeholders. He leads the ICO’s work on 'surveillance society' issues and on developments such as e-Borders, electronic health records, ID cards and video surveillance. He is involved in the ICO's international data protection duties and is a member of the joint supervisory authorities for Europol and the Customs Information System. He also represents the UK at the meetings of the Schengen Information System Joint Supervisory Authority. |

Paula Barrett is a Partner in the Commercial Practice division of Eversheds and leads the information law practice nationally. She focuses on data protection, freedom of information, IT law issues. Paula is a member of Eversheds’ local government and central government sector groups and advises on such issues as information access requests, information sharing, auditing, and creating compliance policies. Her clients include regional development agencies, business links and local government. |

Robert Boden is a Data Privacy IT Specialist for IBM. With 15 years experience as an IT Professional, most recently with Princeton Softech and then with IBM, Robert has been a Consultant for data privacy solutions in the often overlooked test and development environments. He has worked with organisations across the private and public sector, including DVLA, Orange, Chivas Regal, Bradford & Bingley, & Aviva in helping them implement enterprise wide strategies for ensuring adequate protection of sensitive data in such environments. |

Phillip Bradshaw qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 and after spending 13 years in private practice, moved to the public sector in 1996 as a Manager in a local authority legal service. Since September 2005 he has been the Information Manager at Cardiff Council with lead responsibility for all information governance issues, including data protection and data sharing, records and knowledge management and freedom of information. He plays an active role in supporting colleagues in these areas and is Vice-Chair of the Welsh Information Governance Group. |

Andrew Dyson is a Partner in the Technology Media and Commerce group at DLA Piper. He advises clients on IT contracts and information law issues, with specialist expertise in relation to data protection and freedom of information legislation. Andrew works closely with significant public and private sector organisations developing effective strategies for ensuring compliance with this legislation. He has particular experience advising on the management of personal data in the context of outsourcing transactions, corporate acquisitions and in the health and HR environments. |

Hazel Grant is a Partner at Bristows, specialising in public procurements, complex information technology projects and information law. Hazel advises on data protection compliance, government data sharing projects, responses to FOI requests and handling appeals to decision notices. Hazel is an editor of the Encyclopedia of Data Protection and Privacy, and a contributing editor for the Encyclopedia of Information Technology Law. She has worked with central government departments and other public bodies such as the DCA, DWP, Ofwat, Defra, VOSA and special health authorities. Richard Hollis is the Chief Executive Officer of Orthus, a European information security risk management consulting firm specialising in providing information risk management services. As a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), Richard designs and implements comprehensive information security programmes for technology driven companies. Over the course of his career, Richard has served as Director of Security for Phillips and Deputy Director of Security for the US Embassy Moscow Reconstruction Project, as well as a variety of sensitive security positions within the US government and military. |

Bridget Treacy leads the UK Privacy, Information Management and Outsourcing practice at international law firm Hunton & Williams. She has considerable expertise in advising both the public and private sectors on domestic and international data protection issues. Bridget has particular experience of advising clients on dealing with the implications of data breaches. Her public sector experience includes drafting and negotiating data protection provisions in public sector contracts, advising on subject access and FOI requests and devising data protection training programmes.
